Position Overview
As the Deputy Manager at Starlight Support Services, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our social care home. You will work closely with the Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our residents, supporting their well-being and promoting a positive living environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a compassionate and professional atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents in collaboration with the care team, residents, and their families.
Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure high standards of care.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify residents’ needs and create appropriate care strategies.
Ensure that residents receive personalized care that respects their dignity, privacy, and independence.
Manage administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Handle complaints and concerns from residents and their families, working towards swift and effective resolution.
Promote a safe and supportive environment for both residents and staff, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Coordinate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other external agencies to provide comprehensive care to residents.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of residents' care and progress.
Stay informed about best practices, trends, and developments in social care.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Relevant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a social care or healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of social care regulations, policies, and best practices.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a deep understanding of the needs of residents.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
