Position Overview

As the Deputy Manager at Starlight Support Services, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our social care home. You will work closely with the Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our residents, supporting their well-being and promoting a positive living environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a compassionate and professional atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents in collaboration with the care team, residents, and their families.

  • Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure high standards of care.

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify residents’ needs and create appropriate care strategies.

  • Ensure that residents receive personalized care that respects their dignity, privacy, and independence.

  • Manage administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

  • Handle complaints and concerns from residents and their families, working towards swift and effective resolution.

  • Promote a safe and supportive environment for both residents and staff, adhering to health and safety regulations.

  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other external agencies to provide comprehensive care to residents.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of residents' care and progress.

  • Stay informed about best practices, trends, and developments in social care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Healthcare Management, or a related field.

  • Relevant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a social care or healthcare setting.

  • Strong understanding of social care regulations, policies, and best practices.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a deep understanding of the needs of residents.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
